Inspirational quote card

Hi Friends!

Have been playing along 30day coloring challenge of Kathyrac at IG. Recently colored this little fella, Forest woodpecker of IBS stamp using Zig brush pens and Polychromos. Made a focal panel for it today.

For the first time, tried coloring other than flowers and butterflies!!
  • Took a watercolor paper, heavily distressed at the edges and slightly sponged at cnetre using Hickory smoke distress ink.
  • Then stamped the IBS sentiment leaving a central area.
  • The birdie is added using foam adhesives.
  • The leaves are from Mudra stamps, are colored using zig pens and fussy cut and added to the branch.
  • Few enamel dots as accents and mounted on a white base card.

MHK November/December Challenge

Dear Friends!

Have come up with a card for MHKDesigns' challenge, which is our last challenge for the year 2016.

Challenge inspiration :

My take on this:

  • On a wet watercolor paper, sprinkled brusho powders in dark brown and emerald green and drying up at intervals to set the color.
  • Then colored, fussy cut the butterflies from Butterfly wisdom digiset and mounted on the focal panel.
  • The sentiment from Tulip of Thanks digiset, is printed on the focal panel itself.
  • Few peach pearls are added as accents.
  • Then this panel is matted on the Country farm digi paper and then matted on a dark brown card base.
Hope you like it!

  • Stamped Butterflies and sentiment from IBS -butterflies set using Black Archival ink.
  • Then, Wet few portions of the wcpaper and sprinkled the Brushos crystals, (Oh yeah!!! they are my new additions to my stash, bought during vacation, using it after almost 3 months)
  • At few places, sprtized water and enjoyed the way the color forms by bursting colors...Absolutely loved this!!!

  • Colored using Zig cleancolor brush markers and highlights done with Polychromos Faber castell pencils (That's also a new addition to my stash...)
  • Took blue grey Zig and drawn outline to get a hazy background around butterflies.
  • Then stenciled Finnabair Light paste+mustardseed Distress stain using TCW tiles stencil.
  • Then using Black archival, distressed the whole edge of the panel in a irregular fashion as i love to get a hazy corners.
  • Few clear droplets added as accents to finish off the card.
