Its my first time doing an Easel card, but with a twist....Yah....You got it right! Its a Twisted Easel card with little quilling.

Wanted to quill seasons' based quilling for this Easel card and its an after thought purely. For Spring, i have quilled few flowery plants with a butterfly to get a freshy look and added "Bloomy", Summer with sun and cactus, and added as "Sunny", Autumn/Fall with withered leaves from trees and so "Leafy" and Winter with Snowman and snow as "Frosty".

This card is for the following challenges:

ICR challenge 11

KB cute Monday Challenge 31 - Anything goes!

Tricolor quilling and October theme.

Combing and Alternate side looping are my recent practices using quilling strips.
Though i dont own a quilling comb, i used ordinary wide teethed comb for this combing technique. Tutorial for this can be seen in Daydreams.

Alternate side looping is making few loops on either sides of a main loop and making leaf or a petal.
I have used 2 pink shades, grey and black for the October theme in Emirates Quilling Guild.
Alternate side looping, Combing and Multistrips open coil quilling are the techniques used here.

Happy Quilling!

Multistrips Quilling

Multi-strip open coil quilling has been a dream for me. Has seen so much of wonderful multi layered scrolls in Simple Rhymes blog, Baukje's blog and Neli's blog. Atlast got a tutorial in Facebook and i tried my hands on it.

Closer view

Yippppie...happy news to share with you all. Yesterday i purchased a paper shredder. (its a dream come true). So for the first time, i used shredded papers. Few months back i tried a lot to purchase but the shipping cost was much more than the Paper shredder. So left the idea totally....and started cutting colored A4 size papers. But yesterday happened to see at shopping mall...and was jumping like anything.....I cannot leave it ....so got one.....

Quilled Flowers

I made this simple card for my Mom.  Daydreams - Suganthi, a dear fellow quiller informed me about the challenge at take a quil pill blog and about the requirements. To my surprise, i have made card aptly without knowing this. Thanks to Suganthi....

This simple card is with 3 different flowers and made tight coils with 2 different colors. For fringing flower, 2 colors are being used. I have used 6 different colors as possible.

Yellow bouquet flowers

Yellow flowers are quilled by using ballpen refill and the centre is a orange tight coil. Leaves are made by gluing 5 marquise shapes together to form single leaf. The bow is made following Claire's blog instructions.
