Bokeh Background Technique

CAS card again for all the hearts who left me wonderful birthday wishes yesterday irrespective of different time zones... was really in gleeful state :) Thanks once again friends !!

Bok-eh, a term known in Photography but so new to me in stamping :) Yesterday learnt from here and wanted to give it a shot. Used the technique alone as, i lack few supplies mentioned there.

Diecut the heart from Itsy bitsy heart die and stamped on it using Ranger Archival ink. Applied glossy accents to the whole heart to get the glossiness...Just loving it :)  On a white cardstock, i just drew freehand heart in Spun sugar DI using koi waterbrush and created the Bokeh bg by simply stamping and stamping off with Spun sugar. Added the Stamped, glossy heart on the hand drawn heart with dimensionals. Though my glossy heart is with air bubbles and few fingerprints...am loving the way the lacy stamped heart pops :)

Sentiment is added on a diecut which is embossed on its edges with Black EP using Heat gun for that extra glam. Followed a tute from here. Few pink pearls are for final touch :)

Hope you like it too :)

Supplies:

White CS - Sudha
Sentiment - Trendy circles - Inspired by stamping

Strips used :3mm width, 29 cm length
For the cages - 3mm,1mm,1,5mm strips hand-cut from 120gsm black cardstock.

Birds (make two)
The body of each bird is made from one full length strip. shaped into a teardrop.
Wing: half a strip,shaped into a teardrop.
Eye: 2cm strip. rolled into a tight coil.
Legs: make from 2cm brown strip, folded.
Beak: Take a 0.5cm length of brown strip, fold in half and cut corners in a pointed way to resemble a beak.

Hearts around bird (make several):
Make closed loose coils from 4cm, 5cm,6cm,7cm lengths of red strips and pinch them to form hearts on various sizes.

Flowers stayed as white where crayon stayed, rest CS got changed. This is mounted on pp and various CS layers. Wound few layers of Raffia and added a wooden button, rhinestones as embellies. Sentiment in added on a banner and popped up using ds tape on Raffia.
