Happy Hello: Powerpoppy Blossoming Cherry

Hi Crafty peeps!!

Happy May!

Powerpoppy's Blossoming cherry digital stamps reminded me of my most wonderful years at Taiwan. This digi is my recent purchase during a slash sale.

I went in for those misty mornings and foggy days of Spring where every square is loaded with Cherry blossoms and Apple blossoms!! The fine fragrance of the scent surely to elate anyone's day.

Bit of experiment mode I was. So took a watercolor cs and misted with water liberally and dropped in colors of blue and pink (Gansai Tambi watercolors) at adequate intervals to create a hazy bg. Then dried the cs well and ironed it neatly so that it can be fed easily into the printer.

Yay!! Printed the floral sprig with the sentiment in 1 easy go!

Painted the florals using same watercolors and highlighted with Prisma colored pencils.
Then the watercolor cs trimmed and matted to the black cs. Added generous white paint splatters to create a foggy mood to the card. Then mounted on to a white card base.

Few clear dew droplets as accents to finish off the card.

Hope you like it!!

Happy Crafting!

You are Awesome: Floral Card

Hiya Crafty peeps,

Happy Tuesday!

Am here today with a last moment entry to the current Altenew challenge.

Over to the project!

  • Onto Canson Watercolor card, stamped roses and leaves from Altenew's Bold Blossoms stamp set in Antique linen distress ink.
  • Tried no line coloring using Zig clean color brush pens.
  • The florals and leaves are fussy cut once done.
  • Onto the watercolor cs, misted the bg heavily with water and dropped the colors of blue followed by yellow from Gansai Tambi watercolors to create a hazy bg.
  • I went for a hint of colors in the bg.
  • Once dried, splattered fine black paint over the panel.
  • Added a chipboard and onto which the fussy cut florals and leaves are added with adhesive tapes.
  • Then generously spattered white paint onto the panel to make the whole card come together.
  • Sentiment from Altenew's You are stamp set is white heat embossed onto a black cs and added to the panel.
  • Few clear dew droplets for added interest.
Hope you like it!

Stencil Stamping & Coloring : Mudra DT post

Hi Friends,

Am on Mudra's blog for today's monthly post. I have made 3 cards focusing Stencil Sponging. Sponging over Stencils is a pretty basic way to use. Stencils can also be used for mists/sprays or to apply the texture pastes to get the desired patterns. For which, whole stencil or a portion can be used to create the focal image or even a background.

Always start loading the sponge with the ink and lightly sponge over the stencil in one direction only. Once a layer of ink on your cardstock is dried, you can sponge over top with more inks and more pressure to intensity to get a layered look.

Went ahead and colored the sponged areas of the stenciled portion to make my focal images for first 2 cards and in the last card, used stencil for background on yupo paper using alcohol inks .

Check the  Mudra blog for the complete procedure and pictures.

Hope you like it!

Happy Crafting!

Bowl of Beauty : PowerPoppy

Hi All,

My dear Mom's birthday today and made a floral card for my Plant Nerd Mumma :)

She absolutely love plants and religiously maintains a huge garden at my hometown. This blog is the sample of her creative streaks which she transferred. Such a fabulous oil painting artist she is and all my childhood days were spent watching her create layers and layers of those artistic paintings.

Way back in 2011, this day, I made a handmade Quilled birthday card to Mom and from that there wasn't no looking back...The moments were in search of "Me time" when little one was 2 yrs old and I ended up to this wonderland of Art and Handmade rightly!! Kind of soul-seeking!

Over to the card for today!

  • Printed Bowl of Beauty, a digital stamp from Powerpoppy.
  • Colored using Faber Castell polychromes colored pencils.
  • After finishing coloring, the bg around the flowers were made by Zig clean color brush pens.
  • I did a very light hazy bg with a baby blue brush pen.
  • Few enamel dots to finish off the card.
  • The focal panel matted to the black cs.
  • Then it's mounted onto the 5x6.5" white card base.
Hope you like it!
