Stencil Stamping & Coloring : Mudra DT post

Hi Friends,

Am on Mudra's blog for today's monthly post. I have made 3 cards focusing Stencil Sponging. Sponging over Stencils is a pretty basic way to use. Stencils can also be used for mists/sprays or to apply the texture pastes to get the desired patterns. For which, whole stencil or a portion can be used to create the focal image or even a background.

Always start loading the sponge with the ink and lightly sponge over the stencil in one direction only. Once a layer of ink on your cardstock is dried, you can sponge over top with more inks and more pressure to intensity to get a layered look.

Went ahead and colored the sponged areas of the stenciled portion to make my focal images for first 2 cards and in the last card, used stencil for background on yupo paper using alcohol inks .

Check the  Mudra blog for the complete procedure and pictures.

Hope you like it!

Happy Crafting!

Authentic Self: Graciellie Designs

Hey Hi Crafty peeps,

Back again here with a floral card. This time, colored a digital image from Graciellie designs : Authentic. Absolutely love the florals, leaves and the sentiments in this stamp. Each sentiment style refers different mood.

It's my first time, using alcohol markers other than Chameleon pens.

  • Printed digital stamps in the Neenah solar crest white cs.
  • Colored using my new Alcohol markers. Yay! that's my recent gift of 80 markers.
  • Using three color combos of light, medium, dark, colored the florals and leaves.
  • Added few white gel pen dots to the leaves and floral stamens.
  • Yet to learn loads as this is entirely different from pencil coloring and watercoloring which am used to!
  • Colored using cool grey on the outline of the floral spray.
  • Then fussy cut the florals and foam mounted onto a geometric patterned sheet (actually its a packaging sheet of a recent purchase)
  • Foam mounted the sentiment banner onto the florals.
  • Added this panel to the white top fold A2 sized cardstock.
  • Few purple sequins are added as accents.
Hope you like this card.

Live a Little : Floral card

Hi Craftypeeps,

Wishing you a very Happy New year 2019!!

Love what you do and do what you love!!
May you find peace and boundless joy in whatever you set your mind on!

I made a floral card as my first project for 2019. Am a sucker for floral stamps and digital floral images are no exception.

Digital images gives a whole new area for exploring...as they can be resized, flipped, and what not. It gives umpteen options for working on card designs.

  • Printed the Hellebore flower in varying sizes from Powerpoppy's Heart Abloom digital set.
  • Colored using Prisma colored pencils.
  • Fussy cut and kept aside.
  • Took a smooth blending card and smooshed the Distress oxide: Fossilized amber on a plastic sheet, misted with water and then applied to the card.
  • Randomly stamped the newspaper print stampers using Altenew's limestone ink. It gives a subtle texture over the inked surface.
  • Splattered distress ink: black soot over the card panel for little more interest.
  • Arranged the fussy cut florals in different dimensions for visual interest and added sentiment from Powerpoppy's Dynamic duo's clear stampset on to round wood veneer.
  • Matted this panel to a black cs and then mounted onto a white A2 top fold card base.
  • As a finishing touch, added few grey enamel dots.
Hope you like this!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sending Good Thoughts : CAS card

Hi Friends!

Happy WCMD!

Colored this image 2 days before and squeezed some time today to make a base for this florals.

  • Beautiful camellias are Digital images from Powerpoppy and the sentiment is from their clear stamp Rosie's your way.
  • Colored the images using prisma colored pencils. Fussy cut and kept aside. Then the focal panel is distressed using Broken china and Fossilized amber Distress oxides and water splashed onto surface for those molting effects.
  • Sentiment is then stamped using Black archival ink.
  • Colored image then mounted onto focal panel using foam adhesives, matted with a black cs  and then to a white A2 card base.
  • Few clear droplets used as accents to add interests to the background.

Hope you like it!

Happy Crafting!

Cheers,
Sathya
