Layered Vintage Card :)

DT inspiration card for Cardabilities here! Very fond of inks these days and tried to create layered vintage bg for this card.

Here we go,

Sketch for this challenge

Watercolor cs is taken and built the layers from scratch, using various DIs - Aged Mahogany, Scattered straw, Vintage Photo. Adequately misting and drying every layer before adding each layer of inks. Then the edges are roughed and rolled at diagonal corners of the card.

Heidi Swapp Script stamp (new in my stash) is randomly stamped, and its shown vaguely at few places only as its been lost in misting and ink layerings.

Took heart diecuts in Red CS and distressed its edges in black soot DI. The CLD medium rose diecuts are distressed with aged mahogany and pearl centered. And Spellbinders foliage leave diecuts are distressed with evergreen bough and aged mahogany, misted and shaped.

Diagonally, Kaisercraft Heisian stamp(new in my stash) is stamped using Vintage photo DI for the extra textured look for the card.

Sentiment is from IBS Everyday Sentiment stampset which is selectively stamped using Ranger Archival ink and the banner edges are distressed using Vintage Photo DI. And random splashes of Black soot inks as the finishing touch!

This front panel is then matted in a black CS which is then on a white base CS.Few black rhinestones are added as accents on heart diecut.

Hope you like the overall look of the card!

Supplies:

CS- Fabriano CS

Inspired by...

Hey Hi!

A quick post today as my son gone for a dance practice for tomorrow's Tiny Tot's Day in school, had ample 6 hours to finish a DT post and this card today :)

This card is much inspired by very many things...
First the quote which comes in IBS Butterfly wings stamp set, which was a challenge win at IBS :)
Love the stamp set for the different butterflies and for the quotes.

Second which caught my eye ...was this Inspiration pic which is my screensaver in my lappy for a long time.

And last...those sunset colors and the images of it.

I wanted to try those colors and wanted to make a card and so this dare attempt from my end,
Now...you should say...how it looks?

Took a 5x5 white CS and started building the colors from scattered straw, rusty hinge, aged mahogany, vintage photo and black soot DIs. I enjoyed the process being so inky :)

I stamped those wild flowers, grasses and wheat stalk from Meadows stampset and the stamped the sentiment in versamark and white heat embossed.

And stamped the butterfly near the wheat stalk and just drawn the legs alone, as if its grabbing it.

Hope you like it! Do leave comments, as it means a lot to me :)

Red Poppies :)

Hi Friends,

Wish to try some coloring with distress inks and this time, its with Poppies stamp. I heart this stamp and it was there in my wishlist for a long time. At last tried now.

Will be coming up with card variations using this lovely stamp soon.

Stamped with Black archival ink and colored using Festive berries DI. Layered Timeless rectangle diecuts on a base CS and distressed its edges too with the Festive berries DI.

Though am not satisfied with my outcome of coloring, dint feel like throwing in trash...so to pacify me, added IBS Sentiment, which i feel apt to my mood. Few pearls are added as accents.

Hope to improve in my future trials.

Floral Love Card!

This time a simple card with just diecuts.

This Memory box Sonora Rose die is a win from DCAM challenge and, took it from India home and was waiting to give a shot.

Its just a single rose die with 2 leaves of various sizes and with buds. I Diecut, embossed and colored the roses using Worn Lipstick, Tattered rose and Mustard seed DIs. And for leaves and buds, used Peeled paint  and at edges Gathered twigs DIs.

Just popped these on a doily using foam dots to give 3 D effects to roses. To make the small rose, i just cut the outer whorls of the rose and distressed with Mustard Seed DI

Sentiment is stamped, edges were rounded and few pink pearls as accents to finish off the card.

Hope you like this.

Vintage-y Love :)

Another Valentine card for today, a shadow box card with a vintage color scheme. This card technique and vintage style is my first time try. Hope you like it.

White, cream, black, brown, light mint green, kraft are the shades i have played with.

A square frame is cut from pattern paper which has music notes, is added as inner panel and to it added a heart diecut from same pp, is with stamped florishes and its edges too sponged with rich cocoa.

All the flowers are handmade. Florishes, roses, mum, are diecut from various dies  and distressed and dry embossed to make these. To add bit interest to the CLD tropical flourish, added a single petal flower with stryofoam ball centres. Big roses are made from Gardenia strips and small roses bunch are made from Memory box fancy blossoms and of course, single petal flowers too. Big bloom is from CLD sunflower die. Leaves are from olive branches.

Sentiment too is stamped on music note pp diecut, which i hope goes well with the sentiment saying :)
